Fantastic work! I truly believe that the bard skill is very suitable for OSRS. My
thoughts:
I'm aware that RS gold you have numerous training methods to meet the needs of different types
of people, but it doesn't alter the fact that this skill is much higher "complex" than
your current capabilities. This means that you have a myriad of training options that
can be used in multiple ways the ability (anima or rifts. ) and a myriad of ways to
earn rewards. I feel like this skill is accompanied by a couple of minigames associated
with it.
Follow-up point, Anima and Rifts should be separated into Bard minigames or never
implemented at all. I don't believe in creating a brand new mob around the globe for a
new skill when there are already Bard camps, battles, performances. Why not incorporate
rewards into these training methods instead of having an abundance of reward options?
A instrument's tuning is like the process of stringing a bow and should not be given
that much emphasis IMO.
Every skill in the world contributes in some way, in a direct or indirect way, in
tackling. This skill is able to do this is also good IMO and helps it an appropriate
addition to. I like the idea of playing instruments to deal with mobs, and giving buffs
to players for their pvm learning. However, I am not happy with the idea that the
instruments come with special quirks like teleports. It should be the performing (using
the ability) that gives special particular quirks. I.e. Rather than the instrument
itself having a right-click-teleport feature it is possible to play a certain song that
requires a specific instrument that you want to move (or aggro/deaggro mobs, or buffs
or buffs, etc. ).
In the next step, I'd like to see more focus on unlocking songs in order to unlock
glitches. It could be through quests, minigames, raids, or beating one's NPC at first
at the bar/camp, or in a pub, etc. Certain songs played on specific instruments give
special quirks that should be the ultimate reward for this ability. E.g. The war drum
playing a song we learned from goblin quest aggro mobs. It allows instruments of lower
levels to still be used in during the late game. According to legend, the songs could
be ancient magical chants that we uncover in an old legend that is sung in a pub or a
dirge sang by an eminent court bard. There are many examples.
I like the idea having performances and battles with particular instruments, as it
helps smaller instruments more relevant.
I'm not a fan in any way, it's like its own entire game, nothing to do with OSRS. The
reward is just used to forcibly "tie" that back with OSRS's game. This isn't a natural
fit IMO. The rewards, similar to special shop items, can be included in the above
specific song-and-instrument idea.
I do not like the emphasis placed on bard camp since there are already pubs and pubs.
What is the reason to use pubs/inns that already exist and for those who don't have
such facilities, bars, they could have bard camps. In other words, in the eyes of a
student of Bard there isn't any distinction between a pub, inn or bard school aside
from aesthetics. The lore of it all fits perfectly IMO.
In summary, I feel the thing you're seeing is an iceberg. Above the water is an
excellent skill that can be easily integrated into the game. However, underneath there
is a lot of other stuff that makes the skill overly complex , and frankly, it's an
entirely different game. I love training by playing fights, performances, and battles.
I am a fan of rewards in form of unlocking songs (and thereby unlocking peculiarities)
through the aforementioned methods for training minigames, raids, quests. Everything
else is too much IMO.
Apologies if I misinterpreted anything I really wish Jagex will look into this since runescape old school gold I believe Bard truly fits in the game!
