NBA 2K21's new-gen edition fixes many of the heritage flaws that have plagued the brand for years. Players getting twisted into unmanageable animations occurs considerably less often, resulting in greater efficiency while on defense. Positioning no longer only reacts; 2K21 MT it can be used as a strategy. There were multiple moments, especially in online matchups, when my customary ability to push past aggressive defenders with someone like Kevin Durant was stilled owing to being out-positioned. Unfortunately, the A.I. doesn't take use of this in the manner it should. They were often excessively aggressive on guys who can drive, but couldn't shoot effectively, like Markell Fultz. This 2K MT makes getting into the lane too simple for an explosive slam or easy foul call.

Verdict: Clicking NBA2K21 MToffers some of the finest gameplay in history of sports video games. But that's been true for some years now, and while this year's edition improves on a few aspects, most notably the targeted shooting feature, there hasn't been much progress. At the same time, it's a pity that 2K's emphasis isn't on the pleasure that you can have on the court, but the money that can be taken from your wallet off the court in the MyCareer and MyTeam modes that simply aren't enjoyable grinding through without paying. Tapping the analog stick on either side does not result in a significant motion; instead, the controlled player takes a short stride left or right to alter position. One of my favorite enhancements was the ability to set oneself for a charge while playing extremely eager to drive the lane. Position focus makes mid-game skirmishes more entertaining and interesting than ever before. The downside is that movement mechanics modifications tend to result in unintentional out-of-bound occuring much too often, particularly with A.I. In highly key moments, there were multiple times when the CPU would dribble the ball out of bounds, destroying the immersion that NBA2K21 MT tries so diligently to accomplish.
