Any Christian who is against Adoption has another think coming. Why?
Simply because every believer is an adopted child.
We are joint heirs with Jesus to the throne of God because He agreed to share his Daddy with us.
Ephesians 1: 4-6 (TPT)
”And in love he chose us before he laid the foundation of the universe! Because of his great love, he ordained us, so that we would be seen as holy in his eyes with an unstained innocence.
5–6 For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace[d]—for the same love he has for the Beloved, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure!”
On a cold morning in 2010, I cannot remember what month it was, all I remember is that it was at about 6:30 am and I was on a long queue for gas - as there was fuel scarcity- I began to pray in the Spirit and fellowship with my Father, then He began to speak to me about children and fruitfulness. That was the day I received the bulk of the content of this book. I recall vividly it was as if He was sitting on the passenger seat.
I cannot quote him word for word, but I remember the conversation. I made an attempt to write this book then, after a couple of months I lost the materials and here I am 10 years later, starting afresh, though pained at the loss of the material and the loss of time, but I am grateful that I am at last able to do this. I am also convinced that it will be richer now, I have the experiences of ten years, additional resources and two other written books to add to this book.
The Lord spoke to me about how that many people are suffering, especially African couples, who for one reason or the other have a delay in child- bearing. It is such a big deal that the Lord will have me address it. He said many couples have no business crying that they don’t have children because there are so many children out there who are in need of parents. That came to me as a rude shock I tell you. I mean He is God Almighty! He is the God of all flesh, with whom nothing is difficult. That was when I learned that we don’t get to tell God how to answer our prayers! Indeed His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways, our ways.
God is able to do all things: including giving you an adopted child.
Orphanages are good, thank God for them, if not for them, so many children would have been lost, dead and hopeless. It however is not the ultimate divine plan for children who are neglected, found themselves in unpleasant situations or orphaned.
Psalm 68:5-6 (TPT)
“To the fatherless he is a father.
To the widow he is a champion friend.
The lonely he makes part of a family.
The prisoners[a] he leads into prosperity until they sing for joy.
This is our Holy God in his Holy Place!
But for the rebels there is heartache and despair”
God desires to set the solitary in families!
When you adopt a child and take care of her or him, their angels will minister to you, part of which could be delivery of biological children to you. The children’s angels are constantly beholding the face of the Father in heaven.
Remember, children are a gift from the Lord. God is able to give you a child at whatever age and despite any medical conditions and through whatever means He chooses.
The Lord further went on to ask to write this book on Adoption and go ahead to herald this good news.
He went on to say that people need to look at fruitfulness holistically; Children (biological, adopted, by surrogacy, IVF) is only a tiny part of what Fruitfulness is really about.
Reproducing after your kind (spiritually, biologically, mentally, financially and so on,) is what the Lord has in mind.
I expressed my concern to the Lord ; Won’t people say it is easy for me to be out here advocating for waiting couples to consider adoption and for people to adopt children when I have my own biological children?
And He gave me two responses;
- Tell them I sent you.
- You have biological children and that puts you in a good place to talk about this. If you did not have biological children, some might say that is the reason you are advocating for Adoption.
What matters is that you are obeying instructions!
And here I am!
The Book is being written and the working Title is “But you are Fruitful”
