Many high-end smartwatches and wearables now have health and fitness tracking capabilities, and we can expect future devices to have more advanced features.

It is rumored that a new Huawei device called the Watch D will be released next month, which will have a fairly accurate blood pressure monitor . It is still recommended to use real medical devices, of course, but the fact that you can have such a function on your smart watch might help those without a real blood pressure monitor.

The leaked information posted on Weibo that the device, which will presumably be called the Huawei Watch D.

Its main selling point is that it will be able to monitor the user's blood pressure, which will be useful to many people who track their body metrics.

It is currently in its final stages of testing, and so far, according to those who actually used the device, it has relatively good accuracy. Medical professionals will probably advise you to use real blood monitoring devices anyway, but it can be a good tool for day-to-day use.

It may also have a rather different design compared to previous Huawei smartwatches. Typically, Chinese-made devices have round dials with two buttons or a rectangular touchscreen with one button on the right side. From the leaked photo, it is still rectangular in shape, but it looks like there are two buttons on the right side as well. One button is labeled Home and the other labeled Health.

Sparrow News reports that the whistleblower notes that he has already received a Certificate of Registration for a Class II medical device from the State Medicines Agency. But of course, Huawei will still need to obtain the necessary FDA approvals in the countries where they plan to release the device. This is one that takes a little longer, as is the case with smartwatches that have ECG monitoring.

Features only become available after they pass FDA or equivalent approval.

It is reported that the Huawei Watch D will be officially announced by the end of December. Shipping is likely to start early next year, which should boost Huawei's first quarter numbers.
