One of the OSRS gold biggest weaknesses in RuneScape's game, and it could also be its greatest benefit, is one shared by almost every other game: its longevity. Between the exciting quests and high-octane PvP skirmishes is the continuous grinding out of the mundane household tasks like fishing, mining or cooking to gain experience or gain credits to purchase that new helmet or piece armor. Gotta make money somehow, right?

Although these can be mildly therapeutic, it's time that is spent doing the same thing every day - time that could or might not be better spent playing with a few shorter, but not less popular video games.

Instead of being one continuous combat, RuneScape is a painstaking conflict of attrition, which is very long and tiring, and which never truly ends. But it is immensely rewarding if one is willing to devote the time to it, and that's what I did. It was at least for a one or two years.

I've not played any MMORPGs since, to my everlasting loss and shame. The demands of real life are immense and I just do not have time to let them lure me into. Of all the games it is the longest-running, with many levels to be completed and treasures to hunt. Some have even died during or at the end of endless sessions of RuneScape's younger but more popular sibling World of Warcraft, which is what makes it an eerie game.

On a typical day, I often find me having fun playing Quake and Half-Life or hanging out on Team Fortress 2 - games that get played out in force leave their marks and are gone quickly. It's great to be able to play something you enjoy, and then go on to forget about it quickly, as opposed to having to think about how many logs of cheap RS gold wood I have on my shelves or where I'll be fishing in tomorrow's session.
