Three weeks on and some players are D2R Items struggling to connect to the server of the game. Several reports of investigations into, as well as resolutions of, Diablo 2: Resurrected login problems have appeared in the BlizzardCS the Twitter site since the 9th of Oct. typically just an hour ago.

There are definitely serious issues that the game is experiencing, and with fans growing increasingly antsy about the apparent inability of Blizzard to fix them community manager PezRadar has published a lengthy blog post that explains what's wrong, the steps being taken to fix it, how they're going about it, and why it could take a while to sort things out."

On Saturday morning Pacific time we suffered an outage across the globe due to an abrupt, massive increase in traffic" PezRadar explained. "This was a new threshold which our servers have never experienced at all or even prior to the launch.

This was further aggravated by an upgrade we released earlier in the day with the intention of improving performance in game creation. Both factors increased the load on our database globally and caused it to slow out."

To help ease the load, Blizzard rolled back the Friday update, but that strategy was not sufficient. A bigger increase in traffic led to another interruption on Sunday.

It was a different story on Monday. Blizzard made fixes to Diablo 2's backup global database, and then attempted to make the switch. Following the switch the database continued to run its backup processes and not respond to queries from buy diablo II resurrected items servers located elsewhere.
