The announcement was posted on a Russian-language cybercrime forum and detailed plans to cease operations for good.

The carding service representatives pointed out that, despite the marketplace's popularity, the team is retiring well deservedly.

Intel 471 reports that the announcement reads, "It's time for us to leave forever.".

Founded in 2014, Joker's Stash offered card data from a network of criminal vendors, with some data supposedly exclusive to the site. The site offered data from various high-profile breaches, including Earl Enterprises.

Over the past several years, Gemini Advisory estimates that Joker's Stash has generated over $1 billion USD in revenue.

After attracting a lot of attention from law enforcement, Joker's Stash was the target of a takedown attempt at the end of 2020. However, the service wasn't completely disrupted.

The Joker's Stash site informed visitors in mid-December 2020 that the USA. In an attempt to disrupt the marketplace's operation, the FBI and Interpol seized the marketplace's servers.

Joker's Stash, described as an automated vending cart (AVC), actually had several domains up and running, and the law enforcement takedown attempt only affected a few of them.

Operators were able to continue selling card data unhindered because only the shop's blockchain domains were affected. During that time, site representatives also announced that they would have no problem restoring the impacted domains.

Since the threat actor running the shop (who goes by the moniker JokerStash) announced he was hospitalized with COVID-19 in December, the shop's popularity had waned.

Meanwhile, both the volume and quality of Card Not Present (CNP) and Card Present (CP) records offered in the shop started declining, and customers began complaining.

According to the shutdown announcement, all servers and backups will be erased after Feb. 15, but users will have until then to spend their account balance. Partners will also be paid before the service permanently closes.

On the Dark Web, some individuals speculate that JokerStash's detention might be responsible for the shutdown.
