In the Prologue, you will get the two guns you'll need. One is the primary weapon of your class however the second will be a second weapon. Although the second weapon is labeled as "Required," you might not be able to find it doing anything other than contribute statistics.

There's no method of making other classes use their secondary weapons, however, using them for Stats or to store Runestones still useful.
