One of his main targets was the mages of Kirin Tor, who were based in the city of Dalaran which was now hovering over Northrend to lend aid in Azeroth's fight against Lich King. This began the Nexus War, and Malygos scheme to redirect every wow classic tbc gold  arcane resource from the world to the Nexus and drain the entire world of arcane energy. The Azeroth crust began to fall apart and buckle, and the risk of global extinctions forced the other dragonflights of the dragons to intervene. The red, bronze and green dragons joined forces with the Kirin Tor to end Malygos' rampage. Alextrasza the Life-Binder, the Queen Red Dragon, was forced to eliminate her brother to end the war, and assist mortal heroes to kill the once-mighty Spell-Weaver. In the end, Nexus War ended, but without an eminent leader the blue dragons were in chaos, and Azeroth did not have an element of Magic to safeguard it.

The Horde and Alliance were making gains in their efforts to penetrate into the heart of The Scourge Icecrown Citadel. One particular location proved to be a difficult obstacle to conquer. To enter the area, army of Azeroth must pass through Angrathar the Wrathgate, a place that was guarded by an army of undead. For the Alliance forces were headed by the Highlord Bolvar Fordragon an paladin with a high reputation as the Horde attack was led by Dranosh Saurfang, the teen cousin of Varok Saurfang. WoW's Alliance and Horde had joined forces to bring an end to Arthas' reign. the situation seemed to be going well until Arthas himself appeared at the Wrathgate. Dranosh bravely charged ahead but was instantly killed, his soul being absorbed by Frostmourne.

In the meantime, the Grand Apothecary Putress of the Forsaken had developed a strain of blight that can kill both living and undead. He couldn't hesitate to showcase to the world what it could do. Putress sent several canisters of devastating blight across the battlefieldand indiscriminately killed the Scourge Horde and Alliance soldiers alike before anyone could react. Arthas himself was forced to retreat, as Bolvar Fordragon was set to die of poison. But instead, red dragons fell upon the Wrathgate to smolder away the blight with their flaming flames. Bolvar was severely wounded by the fire of the dragons and, despite the fact that he was not aware of it the world, was later imprisoned from the Scourge.

It is no surprise that both the Horde and the Alliance weren't particularly impressed with Sylvanas Windrunner who was WoW's leader of the Forsaken. She asserted that Putress was acting on behalf of the Legion and not under her own instructions, though some doubted her claim. In her opinion, Varimathras was the Dread Lord who had stolen the Undercity from her hands while she was occupied with Northrend. The  buy WOW TBC Classic Gold Horde, begrudgingly helping, and the Alliance in a bid to take revenge for Bolvar, stormed the Undercity and took control of It from Varimathras. In spite of this victory however, the Alliance remained incensed at the devastating betrayal that had resulted in the loss of so many lives.
