The popular Fantasy WoTLK Gold game, World of Warcraft, was the first major expansion to be released, The WotLK Classic, in early 2007. and along with its new content, there was lots more lore to discover. World of Warcraft had launched in just two years prior to then, and by the point that The WotLK Classic came around it was already on the rise in its popularity. People were eager to discover the mysterious world of Outland and to interact with the most popular characters from the game's predecessor, Warcraft III.
The new expansion is set in the broken homeland of the orcs and what was left of it after chaotic magic tore the planet in half and changed its ecosystems beyond the scope of. At first, the planet was called Draenor and was home of ogres and orcs and Draenei prior the time that the Dark Portal was built and the First War ensued with the orcish Horde invading Azeroth. The land was poisoned by Fel energies and, over time, many lush ecosystems died out. After the defeat of Horde in the Second War, the orcs who remained on Draenor under the leadership of the warlock Ner'zhul made a fatal mistake by using strong Azerothian artifacts to conquer other worlds.
The spell's devastating effects reverted back and the sheer amount of portals open instead tore the veil between Draenor and the Twisting Nether, the plane which connects all the worlds, and the energy that was released shattered the planet into pieces. The few remaining landmasses were suspended by the Nether, and those left still alive were forced to fight to live in a wounded world, now known as the Outland. This is the place where World of Warcraft: The WotLK Classic is set, and the players are free to explore the hauntingly beautiful remains of a planet that had been ripped into pieces.
Since World of Warcraft's release it was only permitted to select four races per faction. Orcsand tauren, trolls and the undead of Horde, and humans, dwarves and night elves, and gnomes are for the Alliance. The shaman and paladin class were also restricted to a specific faction, since by lore, only certain races were able to be made into specific classes. Shamans only existed in the Horde and paladins belonged to the Alliance however, after the release of World of Warcraft: The WotLK Classic, this was going to change.
Blood elves were going to be a completely new part of the Horde as, even though they had been members of the Alliance for a few years prior to beginning the Third War, they had been forced to seek refuge elsewhere after their destruction by Arthas Menethil and the Scourge. The blood elves of World of Warcraft do have an affinity for the Light and could be paladins, resulting in the Horde consequently having access to the class. But instead of begging the Light to help them they used it through force, by enslaving the kind Naaru. The paladins of this sub-class were identified as Blood Knights, but they have long since reverted to "cruelty-free" recourse to the Light.
