Reproducing after your kind; spiritually, mentally, biologically, financially, in industry, in business, in ministry and so on will aptly describe what the Lord has in mind, when He talks about Fruitfulness.

Any Christian who is disagrees with the concept of Adoption has another thing coming.

Because, every believer is a child of God by Adoption.

We are joint heirs with Jesus to the throne of God because He agreed to share his Daddy with us. The Bible says “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father. – Romans 8:15)

WHAT THE LORD TOLD ME ABOUT ADOPTION

On a cold morning in 2010, I cannot remember what month it was, all I remember is that it was at about 6:30 am and I was on a long queue for gas as there was scarcity of fuel. Then I lived in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, West Africa.

As the line moved so very slowly, I settled down on the Driver’s seat, ready for the long wait. At a point I began to pray in the Spirit and fellowship with my Father, and then He began to speak to me about Children and Fruitfulness. I recall so vividly that He sat on the passenger seat and spoke to me. That was the day I received the bulk of the content of this message.

I cannot quote Him word for word, but I remember the conversation very clearly. I made an attempt to write this book then, after a couple of months I lost the materials and here I am 10 years later, starting afresh, though pained at the loss of the material and the loss of time,  I am grateful that I am at last able to do this. I am also convinced that it will be richer now, I have an additional ten years of experience, two written and published books and a near death experience that was averted so that I can fulfill my specific God-given purpose, part of which is the heralding of the Adoption message, especially to my fellow Africans.

The Lord spoke to me about how many people are suffering, especially African couples, who for one reason or the other have delay in child- bearing. It is so sad that the Lord will have me address it. He said many couples have no business crying that they don’t have children because there are so many children out there who are in need of parents. That came to me as a great shock I tell you. I listened on in amazement. He mentioned that Orphanages are great and have been instrumental to the preservation of the lives of countless number of Children, all over the world, however this is not the ultimate divine plan. He sets the solitary in FAMILIES.

(To the fatherless he is a father.

To the widow he is a champion friend.

The lonely he makes part of a family.

The prisoners[a] he leads into prosperity until they sing for joy.

This is our Holy God in his Holy Place!

But for the rebels there is heartache and despair. Psalm 68:5-6 TPT)

The Lord said to me that His intention and delight is to get every child to be part of a family. Children are most vulnerable. Yet they are divine purposes birthed by God’s counsel to effect changes on Earth and glorify God. Children are the heritage of the Lord: they need to be preserved. And God is counting on you and me, to take care of these precious souls.

Children come to us in several ways: biologically, by direct or indirect adoption, through surrogacy and so on. The bottom line is: there is no such thing as other people’s children. So long as they are children (not strange children – this will be fully discussed in another publication, watch out for it) they are to be taken in and nurtured for the Lord.

The Lord went on to ask that I write on Adoption and herald this good news.

He said that people need to look at Fruitfulness holistically. Having Children (biological, adopted, by surrogacy and so on) is only a part of the concept of Fruitfulness.

Reproducing after your kind; spiritually, mentally, biologically, financially, in industry, in business, in ministry and so on will aptly describe what the Lord has in mind, when He talks about Fruitfulness.

At this point I expressed my concern to the Lord; Won’t people say it is easy for me to say this, since I have biological children and here I am, advocating for waiting couples to consider Adopting.?

To this the Lord gave me two responses;

  1. Tell them I sent you.
  2. You have biological children and that puts you in a good place to talk about this. If you did not have biological children, some might say that is the reason you are promoting this.

AT THIS POINT

What matters is that I am obeying divine instructions! And I am so glad for the opportunity to do so. Fast forward to 2021, I do not care what people say, I only care about what God says. If He had just told me about this now, I most definitely would not have such a concern, not at all.

I had always loved to adopt children. I remember telling my then fiancé how I planned on adopting children later in life. Little did I know that it was in God’s divine mandate for my life to champion this noble cause.

Of a truth, God’s children have the mind of Christ and so many times His thoughts flow through to our thoughts, and the desires in our hearts are actually His.

See you on the third episode of the “But you are fruitful” Series.

Blessings!
