SULTAN is a forthcoming Indian romantic-thriller. The story revolves around Sultan Ali Khan, an affluent Hyderabadi who is one of the world's powerful men. He has it all, the money, the power and most importantly people are scared to death of him or maybe they are just impressed by his power.The film stars Salman Khan in the title role with Anushka Sharma as Aarfa Hussain, Aditya Roy Kapur as Sultan's ambitious son Samir Khemka and Amy Jackson as Aarfa's love interest Naina Catherine Kapoor. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Yash Raj Films.The soundtrack has been given by five music directors: Amit Trivedi, A. R. Rahman, Himesh Reshammiya, Mithoon and Yo Yo Honey Singh. Songs are sung by The Sheroes fame Shreya Ghoshal, Papon, Sunidhi Chauhan, Arijit Singh, Palak Muchhal, Imran Khan and Mika Singh among others while the lyrics are penned by Kumaar, Manoj Muntashir and Yo Yo Honey Singh among others. The film was initially scheduled to release on 6 May 2014 but it was later moved to 9 June 2014. The film released on 5 June 2014 in around 1000+ screens worldwide, including 300+ screens in India. The film has received mixed reviews while the music of the album reached no 1 on iTunes India charts within few days of its release.After the release of the soundtrack, the songs "Ishq Ka Rang Safed Mein" and "Tera Mera Rang Safed Mein" topped the online single charts for many weeks on various platforms like iTunes, Spotify and Google Play. The soundtrack was released with great fanfare. A special screening of the film was held on 7 June 2014 in Mumbai, where A.R. Rahman performed live for the first time after his recent surgery. A special show with Yo Yo Honey Singh was also held at Symbiosis EDGE on 14 June 2014.The soundtrack received generally mixed reviews from critics, who praised the songs but felt that the rest of the soundtracks were far less impressive than their predecessors. At Box Office India, Sultana received a "U" certificate, which stated that it is suitable for audiences 12 years and over only. In the United States, the soundtrack received a "PG-13" rating from the Motion Picture Association of America for strong language and violence. The songs "Ishq Ka Rang Safed Mein," "Tera Mera Rang Safed Mein," and "Phoonk Deewana" in Sultana have been very well received by critics and audiences alike. The songs have been topping online charts in India for weeks.

The movie was released alongside Lage Raho Munna Bhai, which features Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan in lead roles.
