The nanoprobes then seemed to be receiving signals from the sister's brain and were using this power to heal her.A genetic scientist in America named Ben Garner is introduced. He is skeptical of the project and conducts an experiment on his own son. His son, also called "The Promises," is given a computer chip containing the same nanoprobes as Mah Sarwar's sister, and puts it in his mouth. The chip enters the brain and learns its signals, much like Mah Sarwar's sister, but requires large amounts of energy to perform properly. Ben Garner's son has an adverse reaction to the chip however, which causes his brain to swell until he dies. However, before he dies he claims that he has spoken with his dead grandfather who told him that "The Promises" are not bound by physics or time.Years later Mah Sarwar is living back in Pakistan with his sister Nafisa Raja since she is now cured. He witnesses her playing baseball against other children in the street. It seems as though she won every game she played because her opponents would give up after throwing one ball. After her game Mah Sarwar takes her home and gives her a bath. He then checks on the progress of his sister's brain in an area called the Cerebral cortex. The scanner shows that she has no active brain matter, which leads Mah Sarwar to believe that she is still healed.Shortly after their victory back in Pakistan, another boy approaches Mah Sarwar with his "healing ability." He claims that he is possessed by the same energy as the one who healed Nafisa Raja. The boy has vast psychic powers which he can use to accomplish anything he pleases. However, if he was ever harmed or killed the energy would be destroyed forever.
