For a team with one of the deepest top-six forward groups in the league, the Jets once again failed to put everything together.

Winnipeg mi sed the playoffs for the first time since 2017, ending the season atX-X-X,which made for a sixth-place finish in the Central Division.

The team started off slow before Paul Maurice stepped down as head coach, but even with Dave Lowry taking over Michal Kempny Jersey as the interim bench bo s, it didn't change much. The defense continued to be the Achilles' heel of the Jets, and for the first season in a long time, Connor Hellebuyck could not keep their season afloat.

Out of their RFAs, Pierre-Luc Dubois is the big question mark. The winger is going to want a big payday, but do the Jets have the resources to pay him? Moreover, do they see him as a part of their future plans?

Winnipeg gave out a ton of money to its core group, with Blake Wheeler, Kyle Connor, Josh Morri sey, Nikolaj Ehlers, Nate Schmidt, and Neal Pionk all making more than $5 million for at least the next three seasons.

Most of the team is already locked up until 2024. It's going to take a trade or two for the Jets to clear up cap space if they want to land a big signing in free agency.

Winnipeg has six picks so far Andre Burakovsky Jersey for this summer's draft.

As of right now, they have only one first-round pick; however, there is a condition on the second-round pick that they acquired from the Rangers in the Andrew Copp trade that could make it a first. If New York makes it to the Eastern Conference Final and Copp plays in at least 50 percent of the Rangers playoff games, then it turns into a first.

Barring any injury, Copp will most definitely play Christian Djoos Jersey over 50 percent of the playoff games, so it's just a matter of how far the Rangers get.

We'll keep that as a second-round pick for now, so in total, the Jets have a first, second, third, fourth, sixth, and seventh. They also could gain a seventh-round pick if the Penguins reach the Stanley Cup Finals, which was part of the Nathan Beaulieu trade.

Who is the next coach of the Jets?

Maurice from his position as head coach of the Jets in December. He was in the middle of his ninth season, but he elected to resign as he felt the team could benefit from "a new voice."

Lowry was promoted from a sistant coach to interim head coach, but he's not guaranteed to be given the head coach job going forward. At the time of Maurice's departure, GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said in the search for the new head coach. The team went 23-22-6 under Lowry.

The Jets haven't had a coaching change since Maurice took over in 2014. Ever since the Jets lost in the Lucas Johansen Jersey Western Conference Finals in '18, they have underperformed every season since. Coaching might not be the only big change this offseason, but something has to give on the bench.

Some potential options for Winnipeg to hire are Claude Julien, Lane Lambert, Jim Montgomery, and Rickard Gronberg.
