I was very resentful to the changes that RS underwent following it's
Evolution of Combat update back in the day. I was reluctant to even
give RS3 it a shot for quite a while. I tried logging in OSRS Gold some time ago
using my account from the beginning and was completely confused. Maybe
I should try it once more with a fresh account and pretend I have no
idea what the game is. I might play on an Ironman account there.
That's what I've heard: The idea is that RS3 works best if you
completely discard your preconceived notions. Apparently, Burthope is
the new Lumby which, to me, I see the town as a depressing little
isolated town that's not located on the road from Fally to Catherby
However, a lot of players probably see Lumbridge as some castle that
connects Draynor and Al Kharid.
That's because you're basing it on your memories of Burth which is why
the Burth in RS3 is substantially expanded and more or less joined to
Taverly so it's pretty big.
It's has agriculture, an agility course, a player-owned home portal, a
flax field, sheep, loom+spinning wheel, a mine, an anvil and furnace
and a dungeon to train combat with a slayer-themed dungeon, shops
selling the different styles, a slayer master, the herb-based and
summoning shop/supplies and a dock that has boats to ferry you to
destinations like Daemonheim for the dungeoneering experience, a
twisted, higher quality substitute for chef's helper, thieving zone as
well as a bank...
Basically, every skill but divination, invention, and archaeology can
be done there. It has a sample of everything and a pretty decent path
system to guide players around the town/world. The castle is also the
location where the story of the moment began, using the castle as a
sort of neutral location for any important leader, and a place for god
willing to attend Seren's world council meeting in the upstairs.
Though to be accurate Burth is where you'll end up. First, you start in
Davendale or tutorial island. Evendale is a more developed tutorial
area for starters which is currently in A/B tests to determine if it's
superior to a tutorial island. As a whole response to it has been
incredibly well-received.
Following that, you'll drop into Burthorpe. Then, you'll follow an
open-ended course that teaches you some essential information, and
after that you're free to do whatever you like. They offer a variety of
paths within the path system to follow to give you guidance otherwise
there's this sampler of content to help you get your beak.
The idea is to offer the player a bit of instruction at the beginning
and then provide some assistance with a game that doesn't completely
lock you in for long, then let you fully free into the open world. This
is to avoid those who are new joining feeling overwhelmed by cheap Runescape gold all the
possibilities there is to be played.
